Hèctor Rodríguez Palacios is a flutist and educator based in Zurich. He works as a private teacher and has been teaching at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) since 2023. His career as a musician encompasses both historical performance practice with period instruments and contemporary repertoire, while always seeking new concert forms. Since 2021, he has regularly collaborated with Baroque ensembles such as Ensemble Turicum, the Zürcher Barockorchester, and Bern Consort, as well as other ensembles like Ensemble Pyramide. In 2019, he worked as a substitute with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC). With his duo, Duet 2.26, he won first prize at the Concours Nicati 2023, a prestigious Swiss competition for contemporary music.
He completed his bachelor's degree at the Dresden University of Music (Germany) and his Master’s in Performance and Instrumental Pedagogy at the Zurich University of the Arts with Prof. Philippe Racine. Additionally, he completed a master's degree in Early Music with a focus on traverso flutes at the Trossingen University of Music with Prof. Linde Brunmayr-Tutz.
